2021 Action Plan

  • Monthly call with California’s Governor to increase equity of collaboration between The Governor and Mayors of smaller cities who represent 72% of California’s population

  • Allocate any new state funding, except for competitive grant funding, on a per-capita basis to all cities

  • Clear, consistent, timely communication with CMC regarding COVID spread and scientific rationale for potential state action

  • Safely re-open all economic sectors in California and, meanwhile, provide financial support for businesses and workers in need

  • Engage and empower CMC to support a COVID-19 statewide vaccine public education campaign

  • During State sales tax deferral program, backfill local sales tax funding to cities to protect this primary income source

  • Provide funding for locally-developed workforce development programs

  • In recognition that one size does not fit all, collaborate with cities on state mandates and provide sufficient funding for local implementation

  • State funding and resources for the most vulnerable in our communities, including affordable housing, homelessness, and mental health services
